Position: SQL Developer

Responsibilities:
Responsible for building ETL framework using SSIS as main tools to deal with different data file types on different servers, including SQL server 2014, Access Database, Oracle 11g on remote and local servers, and Flat file, SAS file on AZURE cloud server and SFTP server. Also needs to generate ad-hoc view in SQL server for Tableau report and executable to generate proper backup files. Utilize statistical programs to help other departments in business operational analysis.

Skills Required:

  • Thorough with IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures, and technical standards.

  • Ability to create, read and understand data mapping documents.

  • Profound knowledge in ETL tools including SSIS, AWS.

  • Extended Experience in database management on SQL servers.

  • Ability to create high-performance view, function, and storage procedures on SQL server.

  • Knowledge of utilizing business intelligence reporting tools including SSTS, Power BI and Tableau.

  • Knowledge in Power shell, C#, and VB to finish ad-hoc tasks.

  • Familiar with statistical programs including SAS, R to perform analysis.

  • Understanding the business operation of the insurance industry.

  • Knowledge in estimating and testing Actuarial modeling using Excel and other tools.

  • Ability to utilize Linux system.

  • Experience of working in Agile SDLC method.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional and competitive team

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics,  etc.

  • 0-1 years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server preferred

  • Basic knowledge of Data Modeling preferred

  • Basic knowledge of SQL programming using Microsoft SQL-Server T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS in the 2005/2008/2012 environment is a plus

  • Basic knowledge of ETL development, SSIS, and SSRS preferred

  • Understanding of software engineering concepts, standard methodologies, and best practices preferred

  • Creative, flexible, and quick to learn

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment
